Autism

It robs your child before they know what they've been robbed of
You grieve, your heart breaks, a bit of anger sets in
You think over and over of all the things that would of been
But through it all, you build a greater love

Your judged, outcasted, misunderstood
You begin to retreat....isolate
You begin to meditate, longer and longer, meditate
Things don't seem to be what they should

You realize you've greived and lost
But you learn to rise and run
Hoping each day under the rising sun
There won't be any other cost

But then, you realize when you think you can handle the depth of the pain
Your child has just begun to see what pain they face
Day by day new trials arise and in the race, they're in obvious last place
They look to you in wonde like we, as parents, have the key to their fame

However, we can just love them more each day
With every trial we do
Each day becomes new
And we hope they speak and understand what we say

Autism...it's harder than others will ever know
The daily struggles, more than anyone can understand
The attention, love, and support they demand
The simplest of issues, major tripping stones, even as they grow

Autism...don't rob us anymore
We're sad, trampled, frustrated but in love
Our heart breaks as much as his does
But we understand his future and what's in store

God, we cry out for your healing touch
On the entire Autism Generation
We, as families, need your Freedom
It's only way these children, your children, will live much
